5 Tips For Interview You Should Know
It is never easy to go through an interview what with interviewers you see for the first time asking you about personal things, not to mention your goals in life. If you are not up to it, you might even ask, “What the heck do you want?” “You’re asking too many questions already”.
But then again, for those who already know the ins and outs of going through an interview, they already know what to expect and how to prepare. If you happen to be one of those who are still new to this art of hiring people and getting hired, then you must read this article and pick up some of the following tips for interview that you will read:
1. Prepare for the interview.
Preparation goes a few steps back from the interview room you will be sitting on. Preparation actually starts the minute you receive the phone call informing you that you have been short listed for the position. In that very instance, you should already start to prepare by first, researching about the firm holding the interview.
2. Look into the company’s mission-vision statement.
Check what their business goals are so you can align with your personal and career objectives. In that way, answering any question they will hurl at you will not be so hard at all. Since not too many applicants will take the time to study the mission of the company they are applying for, you can count on it that you will get points for knowing such things.
3. Make an impact on your interviewer.
To achieve this, you must first dress up powerfully. After which, exude confidence in the manner by which you reply to their questions if it is a panel interview. Always make it a point to inject some humor to your answers but of course not to the point of making fun of anyone or showing the interviewer that you are not serious about the interview. This is just so you will not bore them and you will stand out among the so many applicants vying for the same position as you.
4. Do not ask too many questions just for the sake of asking.
Too many times, when an interviewer asks the applicant for any questions, the interview room will soon be flooding with claptrap. The applicants tend to ask too many of those gibberish questions which they should not be asking the interviewer in the first place. Ask the most sensible ones and that’s it.
5. Give your prospective employer or boss a firm handshake.
Before you leave the room, make sure you give your interviewer a solid handshake so that you will leave the impression that you serious about getting hired. In that way, you send a message across that you are truly up to the open position and that you are the type to never give up until the last part of the interview to sooner or later emerge as the one to land the job.
